These are just some of the many faces of my hubby!
He's devoted to his family!
He LOVES his kids, grandkids...and ME!
How lucky is that!
Sure...he has some OCD tendencies...like walking into the kitchen as I'm cooking and putting away the pots, pans or whatever else is sitting on the counter...THAT I AM USING OR GETTING READY TO USE!
Or, if I am cooking, that is the exact moment he decides to do the dishes. Now, mind you, that is a wonderful thing...except our dishwasher is directly across from our stove. We cannot open the dishwasher and the oven at the same time. Hence...whatever needs to go in or come out of the oven has to wait till Mikel is done. We've had our laughs about that over the years (ggggrrrrrr)
Then there is the boat...our old boat that is so enjoyable! How many times does the man run INTO the dock rather then drive up to it? Or when parking it into the boat slip, we end up on the other side of the slip...in someone else's slip instead of on our side? It cracks me up! I get really tense...but not tense enough to try it myself! (How can some people make it look so easy? The first time I tried to trailer the boat, I came in to fast and didn't get it in reverse fast enough. We just about had a hole knocked into the front of the boat when I ran into the front post on the trailer...either that or into the back of the van if the front post didn't stop it! And then there was the next time that I was trying it again. The first time, approaching the trailer, I was going to fast, so I put it in reverse, then into gear again...only to run out of gas about 15 feet from the trailer...and in very deep water! Here I was, in the boat, and Mikel and a complete stranger up to their waists, trying to grab the rope that I was throwing to them.)
Okay...back to my hubby...
He's the best Papa/Dad/Husband in the world! He will sit for hours, pushing a grandbaby in a swing, or reading them stories. He takes them for walks.
He is the first to jump to the aide of his kids, even if it means sitting under a house or under the hood of a car or taking his grandkids home to put them in their own beds so their parents can stay out late. He works hard, plays hard, and lets me kick his backside in Cribbage once in great while.
Last week, we celebrated his birthday. (The world became a better place back on Aug. 2, 1957 when he was born!)
Mikel, if I had the opportunity to pick another husband...I'd still choose you!
