We spent a good 3 hours on the lake, not only cruising but just drifting and enjoying the beauties around us; reading, chatting and even napping. We've been enjoying the scenery at Lake Merwin for 33 years now, the past 7 years actually on the lake in a boat, but we never seem to tire of the view. It certainly is humbling, knowing that Heavenly Father loves us so much, that he created these beauties of nature for us to enjoy.
When we bought our first boat and took the maiden voyage out on this beautiful lake, we discovered a cabin several miles up the lake that has intrigued us for all these years. Every summer, we cruise by it. A few times, we've seen people there, but usually it stands vacant...with the Adirondack chairs waiting for someone to relax in. If only walls could talk and share the history of this fascinating little cabin!
This view is of the Campers Hideaway. Yes, those are trailer houses on the ledge! Now, imagine 1500 sites hidden amongst the trees....
We're up toward the top on the left, back away from the ledge...safely on flat land...whew!
Notice how calm the water is. During the summer when more boaters are scooting about, the water can get pretty rough, especially in the afternoon. We love this time of year because fewer boaters are out. It certainly made for a wonderful day!
